Subscription & billing
How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. To cancel:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
2. Tap your name at the top
3. Tap Subscriptions
4. Find CalCut and tap Cancel Subscription

Your access continues until the end of your current billing period — you won't lose anything immediately.

How does the free trial work?

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. You can use the entire app — every feature, no limits — for 14 days. If you cancel before day 14, you're not charged.

You can cancel anytime during the trial through the iPhone Settings → Subscriptions menu above.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds for subscriptions are handled by Apple, not by us directly.

Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find your CalCut purchase, and request a refund. Apple decides each request individually based on your circumstances.

Account & data
How do I delete my account?

Open the CalCut app, go to Settings, and tap Delete Account. This permanently removes your data within 30 days.

If you can't access the app, email support@calcut.com.au from the email address linked to your account and we'll delete it for you.

Is my data private?

Yes. We don't sell your data, ever. Your weight, progress photos, and food logs are stored encrypted and only visible to you.

Read the full privacy policy for details.

Why does CalCut need access to my Health data?

CalCut uses Apple HealthKit to read your daily step count. This is how the app knows whether you've hit your step goal automatically — no manual logging.

We don't read or share any other health data. You can revoke access anytime in the iPhone Settings app under Privacy & Security → Health.

Using the app
Does CalCut work offline?

Some features work offline (viewing already-logged data, basic tracking).

Logging new food, syncing weight, and using the AI Coach require an internet connection.

How accurate is the photo food logging?

The AI photo logging uses computer vision to identify what's on your plate and estimate portion sizes. It's accurate within about 10–15% for most common meals — good enough for sustained fat loss, since being slightly over or under on any given day evens out over weeks.

If you're not sure, you can also describe your meal in text or scan a barcode for packaged foods.

The barcode scanner isn't finding a product I'm trying to log.

Most products are in our database, but some local Australian brands aren't yet. If you scan a barcode and nothing comes up, you can describe the food using the text logger instead — the AI will estimate the calories from the description.

If you keep hitting the same missing product, email us the barcode and we'll prioritise adding it.

Why isn't my step count showing up?

CalCut reads steps from Apple HealthKit. If steps aren't appearing:

1. Open the Health app on your iPhone
2. Tap your profile picture top right → PrivacyApps
3. Find CalCut and make sure Steps is toggled on

If that doesn't fix it, email support@calcut.com.au.

I missed a day. Does my streak break?

Nothing happens. No streak shaming, no guilt-trip notifications. Tomorrow's a new day.

CalCut is built around consistency over weeks and months, not punishment for slip-ups. One missed day means nothing in the long run.
